Food Service Personnel

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required.

SUMMARY:

Responsible for preparation and serving of meals, snacks, and drinks with the children.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Certification in food handling

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Plan a monthly menu
-Purchase items for snacks and drinks
-Order and pick up meals from the caterer
-Serve meals and snacks
-Return dirty dishes to caterer
-Keep track of needed supplies
-Other Duties as assigned

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must maintain knowlege of food handling safety. Must be able to work safely in an environment containing biological conditions which may be unhealthful or hazardous (such as bodily fluids and waste, germs, childhood diseases). Must pass fingerprinting clearance check (background check) and have a current physical before commencement of employment.

Teacher

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required.

SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, provide developmental care and supervision to children enrolled in iCare Child Development Center; implement age appropriate curriculum for children; establish and maintain supportive relationship with children and parents; Act as lead worker and direct supervisor to assistant teachers; and perform related work as required.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

At least 19 years of age AND

A high school diploma or GED AND

(A) Sixty semester hours of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester hours of courses directly related to child care/development

OR
(B) One year of child development experience in a licensed child care facility and 30 semester hours of credits from an accredited college or university, 6 hours of courses directly related to child care/development

OR

(C) Completion of credentialing program approved by DCFS, such as a CDA AND

First Aid/CPR Certified

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Plan and implement age appropriate curriculum involving various activities to stimulate children’s development in all areas of growth: cognitive, physical, social, emotional and spiritual
-Provide continuous supervision of children enrolled in the center, assuring health and safety at all times
-Maintain center, rooms and play areas in a clean, orderly and safe condition
-Set up rooms and areas for various activities such as lunch, nap, games, etc.
-Record daily observations of children’s behavior and activities
-Communicate frequently with parents regarding child’s development
-Create and maintain children’s portfolios which will include samples of work done throughout the year
-Schedule biannual parent conferences to discuss children’s development and concerns; work with families to devise learning and development strategies as necessary.
-Maintain accurate attendance records, daily reports, incident reports, and any other paperwork that may be necessary for record keeping or communication purposes
-Handle all child/family information confidentially
-Monitor children for signs of abuse and reports incidents of suspected abuse to appropriate authorities in accordance with State Regulations
-Notify director of the need for materials and supplies
-Maintain current knowledge in field of Early Childhood development through inservice training (15 hours per year)
-Act as lead worker and direct supervisor to assistant teachers

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting children or heavy items (up to 50 lbs, unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking, and sitting on the floor for long periods of time. Must be able to work safely in an environment containing biological conditions which may be unhealthful or hazardous (such as bodily fluids and waste, germs, childhood diseases). Must pass fingerprinting clearance check (background check) and have a current physical before commencement of employment.

Aide
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required.

SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision of teacher, aide in developmental care and supervision to children enrolled in iCare Child Development Center; assists teacher with implementation of age appropriate curriculum for children and perform related work as required.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

At least 18 years of age AND high school diploma or GED

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Communicate effectively and positively with children, coworkers, parents and visitors
-Support teacher in maintaining attendance records, daily communications, portfolios, and any other paperwork
-Handle all child/family information confidentially
-Support teacher in sustaining a healthy, organized and safe learning environment
-Support teacher in orienting children and parents to classroom
-Communicate frequently with parents regarding child’s development
-Support teacher in preparing and implementing age appropriate activities
